Prototype demos

The first two products in development from Windfall are a smarter smart plug and a home battery designed for flats and smaller homes.

We're going to make a smart plug that stays plugged in all the time, but only turns on when electricity is green and cheap.

Then we're going to make a home battery that charges up when electricity is green and cheap. And then your house uses it when it needs it.

We already have proof-of-concept prototypes and here’s how they work.

Plug demo

Adding Windfall magic to an off-the-shelf smart plug.

In this demo the plug will remain off until it picks the best two hours overnight to turn on, based on electricity cost and the energy mix. Then whatever is plugged into it will charge up with cheap, green electricity.

Home battery demo

In this demo, we walk through how the home battery works, and look at the savings it can make to your energy bills. We also talk about what’s next for testing of the home battery concept.
